Still groggy with the morning blues, I picked up a hot steamy cup of coffee. The steam in the coffee seemed to convey a message. I watched.

First it looked like a heart. Romance….I wondered. Then it shaped as X. I assumed it meant “wrong answer”.

Then it looked like a flight about to take off. Airport!! X again.

Then there the damnd flight  was there again and it was taking off and moving at the same time. Runway!! There was a smiley :-)

Then I wondered if heart is linked to runway in anyway. Then it showed a ring, and then quickly a heart..

Marriage? X

Engagement?  X-(

Lovers? X

Bride? Runway bride? Runaway bride? The steam smiled :-) and disappeared Poof!

I stared into the “once upon a time hot” coffee..

Damn! Early morning dumb charades with the coffee was so pathetic .Worst part is the coffee goes cold ..before you can do the acting..

P.S. I woke up for the third day at 6 and came to office at 10 after keeping up till 1 the previous night and having worked my a$$ off till 9 pm.. I decided it was time to blog or I will go mad.

This is the sad effect..

My friend’s bro just out of 12th had a conversation with his school mate girl about admissions into engineering.

Bro: Hey what are you planning to take?

Girl: Electronics and communication engineering

Bro: Why ECE?

Girl: I am interested in ECE only.

Bro: Why are you interested? Do you know anything about ECE?

Girl: Who cares? Even d name is soo gud and slick dat d course must be a gr8 one!!

I cant say whether this is a reason to be more concerned about the girl or ECE?

P.S. This conversation started like this

Girl: What are you taking?

Bro: Oh I thought I will take materials sciences.

Girl: Oh I am so sorry for you

Bro: No it fascinates me.Hey, What are you planning to take?

P.P.S I also heard that SSN engg degrees are valued more than IIT Madras by some good number of people. I am amused.

Ever wondered why speaking briefly is called laconic speech?
Here is the story behind it.
Some of the people in the southern part of Greece were called Spartans, and they were noted for their simple habits and their bravery. The name of their land was Laconia, and so they were sometimes called Lacons.
One of the strange rules which the Spartans had, was that they should speak briefly, and never use more words than were needed. And so a short answer is often spoken of as being laconic; that is, as being such an answer as a Lacon would be likely to give.
There was in the northern part of Greece a land called Macedon. King Philip of Macedon wanted to become the master of all Greece. He sent a letter to the Spartans in Laconia, and said, “If I go down into your country, I will level your great city to the ground.”
In a few days, an answer was brought back to him. When he opened the letter, he found only one word written there.
That word was “IF.”

The following lines,a variation of which appears in the movie Coach Carter,
has been wrongly attributed to Nelson Mandela.

The Original author of these lines is Marianne Williamson, in the book “A Return to Love”. Very inspiring, very much what I empathise with.
Just a trivia to inspire..

I thought in the times my creativity and timing takes a reprieve like these, I could put in some interesting facts. So here goes trivia #1

“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to be speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.”

Most of us would have heard this from Hollywood movies and TV shows. This reading of rights has an interesting story behind it and it is interesting because of the way it ends.

The winds blew westward and cold air wrapped me like a blanket. Late in the night, I walk towards hostel, grumbling about late night team meetings. At the turning near CCD, I felt someone was just behind me, closely watching and following.
