The summers of Chennai are infamous and this year it was taking its toll on all our bodies and minds. Now suddenly there is rain. The sky is gargling with noisy thunders. I am here next to my lappie..Listening to songs and the thunders..The sound of rain fall is playing background to “Woh Chali Woh Chali..”

Heaven on earth!

I always write rain posts. Somehow rain seems to bring in a fresh whiff of writing bug in me.  There was first the smell of first rain on earth and that is maddeningly exotic. Then it is down to the regular pitter patter. My neighbour called in to check if I am scared. Somehow I am not. Instead I am writing rain posts like I used to in Pune..

Pune rains used to be more noisy and more like a father’s scolding.. surrounded with slaps, claps and steady list of reasons “why you should not be so careless”… Then it leaves you on your own where you dont know if the anger remains or not..if you can open your room door so fiercely slammed by Dad… You open and see him still glaring at you.. scolding still the steam runs out..

Chennai rains are motherly at its fiercest. They come steadily. First with a force of anger that is so characteristically of mom, who screams at you for coming home late. Then there is a sulking mumbling intermittent with occasional loud reprimand..till slowly the mumbling also becomes muted and there is just fresh air and her love…

Anyway.. It is rain..

I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain; What a wonderful feeling, I’m happy again.

There is dairymilk in hand.. There is media player on the system and there is the music of Gods outside…

Hmmm… Ciao frenz..more sensible posts will follow…

I gave myself a surprise gift this weekend, thanks to my Mom – I AM IN PUNE. I wouldnt have believed if someone had told me 48 hours ago that I would be in Pune at this time on this day. Come to think of it, till 9 pm this Friday, it didn’t even occur to me to come here.As I told my mom that all my friends are getting together at Pune this weekend, my mom suggested that may be I should go too.

Three of us! Train delayed.. Caught in railway station..30 Baggages! What do u do…Run around to packers and movers , push 2/5 of the luggage to them, wait for train for 7.5 hours and come home at 12 at midnight !! This is one post I have been postponing…
I am leaving Pune on June 29th. I am going to start on my MBA at IIT madras.

June 3rd 2005, with all apprehensions and confusions, I landed in this city of monsoon. It was my first job and first stab at living alone and first try at responsibility. No comments on how it has worked out today, but it was scary at that time.
Two years have rolled on and I have managed to learn a lot of things, fall some and get back on my feet, and manage my money a bit too. Now, I am going to start on my MBA.
Back to the student life, so it is going to be fun. But since the last two years, money has become an integral part of me, so now it is going to be tough living a Spartan life. :)

There are several things that will come to my mind when I speak of Pune.
Here are some of them, in no particular order, as each is special in one way. Read the rest of this entry »

Working in shifts is quite a new experience for me…I have always been a “Day bird”, studying in day and watching television till 8 :00 pm, then sleeping was my routine, till my college days .Even during crucial exams, I have stayed awake through the night only 5 to 6 times, all my life. So ,coming to pune and becoming a “Night Owl” was new, if not difficult for me.
And even here, I used to wake up at night to talk or to go out with friends to a movie….

Patience pays…Thats the rough translation of the blog and it is ,in summary what I have been hearing past one week.First things first…what am i supposed to be patient for,and what exactly are people asking me to be patient about.
I jus about three weeks ago, completed my training and waited to be put in a project.. I was put in proj no.1 and later that day shifted off it as ,a gal cannot work in it…Imagine it ,they needed 5 hours to come to a conclusion that i am a gal?Or is it that it took 5 hours to understand that there are such policies
ok then
I went two weeks training for proj 2 and wrote tests again…. On the last day they said i am off to proj 3..and i packed. Then again i heard it has night shift.Guess what am off to proj 4.
Now it so happens that this proj 4 is yet to be discovered and i am here waiting eternally.
In short,I am in what, some people call bench.Well,I am willing to wait ,’cos my friends keep assuring me “Sabr ka phal meetha hotha hai”
Then wats the problem?
The problem is ,what do i do a whole day,without a system,without a work,not knowing what i will face?
This is tough for a person like me who lacks the virtue of patience.
But yeah since I have no go I will wait, and when they put me into proj 5,will update the post..
Till then,wait and watch…

i was always fascinated by water……….being from chennai—that shud be no surprise but i had an extra factor of luv for it as it was a unique element compositely opposite to my nature i am a fire person of fire brand from a fire sign-Aries ,but water is something that attracts me as in “opposites attract” and in pune this attraction and yearning for water and rain is fulfilled ……………this rain in pune…………is the best .
